Save money by using a cashback site
Written 16th December 2024
Use a cashback site for all your online purchases.
If you haven't heard of cashback sites, basically you search on the cashback website to see if the retailer you are going to buy something from is on there and then buy it through a link on the cashback site which takes you to the retailers site. Then you just complete your purchase as normal.
The cashback site tracks your purchase amount and after a number of weeks will pay you your cashback.
Cashback amounts vary wildly, from 1% to a fixed amount. The most I've earned from one transaction is £112.20! Wow!
They even have links to the comparison websites for insurance, energy providers etc and pay cashback for using those as well if you buy a product via them.
I've earned over £2000 in the last 17 years.
Not a huge amount over that amount of time but it's free money since I was going to buy the thing anyway.
Whatever you are thinking of doing, even opening a new bank account, sometimes you will find the retailer on a cashback site. From amazon and eBay to confused.com, holiday companies and diy shops, always remember to check cashback sites before purchasing to see if you can get a little cash back.
The main website I use is Topcashback - just a link to help, I'm not getting any money from you going there from this site by the way. Great customer service, excellent tracking of purchases and very prompt payouts. Always read the full T&C's to check any eligibility criteria before you purchase using the cashback site link and very often, if you are using any other discount code on the same transaction, the cashback will be disqualified so see what works out the most discount before using.
You can even top up the cashback amount when you withdraw it by putting the money on a retailer card, rather than taking the money as cash (it's paid directly into your bank account once it becomes payable otherwise).
My £117 per year average cashback is always appreciated.
